What is polyphane?

Polyphane is a flexible plastic material used for the creation of lampshades, trivets, ... It can withstand a temperature of 160 ° C, it is therefore particularly appreciated for the creation of lighting. The polyphane has a self-adhesive face.

How to use polyphane?

The polyphane is cut to the length chosen from roll of 25 meters.

The material is very resistant and strong, but it remains flexible. So you can create the shape you want.

Place your silk on the sticky side of your polyphane roll. Flatten the fabric well so as not to create any bubbles or folds. Once your silk is well glued, you can cut everything using a template or freehand.

Then create your lampshade by fixing it on the metal support.

It is fairly easy to use, but it takes a little patience.

• Cut your polyphane using a pair of scissors or a cutter, to the desired size.
• Then cover your polyphane with the fabric, being careful not to bubble. Pull your fabric tight by sticking it on. To do this, place your silk on the sticky surface of the polyphane and flatten the fabric well so as not to create air bubbles or folds. It's quite technical and tricky to achieve, don't go too fast.
• Then cut your fabric using scissors and a shade template and put it on your shade.
• Then create your unique lampshade by fixing the polyphane on the metal support.
