Silkwash is a product used for the very first washing of silk. It does not prevent the excess dye from evacuating, but it does prevent the colors from bleeding out on top of each other. It is used during the first rinsing of the silk, after the drying of this one.
The surfix also reinforces the color in the first rinse.
As for the devouring, this destroys plant fibers (cotton, linen, etc.) and viscose while leaving polyester and animal fibers (silk, wool ) intact.
